All Pine Tree instructors have extensive supervisory and management experience (a minimum of 10 years). Participants benefit from their skill and knowledge, both as supervisors and as teachers. To ensure that participants are exposed to a variety of supervisory styles, Pine Tree tries to provide a different instructor for each of the four Modules. DON GRANT, CET, P.Mgr. Don was the Director of Occupational Health and Safety for the Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations. He was previously with SaskPower as the Director; Natural Gas Expansion; Public Liaison; and Occupational Health and Safety. Don has taught Module I since its inception in 1977 and recently has taught Occupational Health and Safety at the University of Regina.. He has a certificate in administration and a diploma in safety management as well as the Canadian Professional Manager designation. Dr. LARRY HEIN, P.Eng. Larry developed Leadership Skills for Front Line Managers in 1976 while he was a Professor at the University of Regina. In his 21 years at the University Larry was Head of the Business and Management Division and also a Professor of Engineering. He is currently employed with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan as Director of Education. In addition to his engineering degree, Larry has an MBA, and a masters and doctorate in adult education and training. He teaches Module I and IV. ROSS KENNEDY Ross has owned a number of Sandwich Tree restaurants and has served as the Co-Chair of the Saskatchewan Labour Force Development Board. He was employed at SaskTel as the Manager of Organizational Development and later as their Manager of Distribution. Ross lives in Red Deer, Alberta and holds a certificate of administration. Ross teaches Module III. MARYANN LANGSHAW, CHRP Mary Ann is currently an Organizational Effectiveness Consultant with the Public Service Commission serving the Ministries of Government Services, Finance & PSC. Mary Ann has an extensive career in management focused primarily on Human Resources and Adult Learning. Her work experience includes: Human Resources Consultant for the Ministries of Learning & Advanced Education, Senior Learning Consultant for Canada Life Assurance Company, Customer Services /Human Resources Manager for Eatons, Human Resources/Training Manager for The Bay, Regional Manager for LaSenza (Southern Saskatchewan). Mary Ann has a Bachelor of Education degree and an Advanced Diploma in Human Resources. Mary Ann teaches Module I. NICK LANGSHAW, CHRP Nick’s current role is Leader, Business Process Improvement at SaskPower. Over the past five years, Nick has worked in various Human Resource positions including HR generalist, Employee Relations and Organizational Development. His former employer of twenty years, Saskatchewan Workers Compensation Board, afforded Nick the opportunity to contribute towards the organization’s success in various capacities: Strategic Planning, Training & Development, Communications and Case Management. His Bachelor studies were taken in the Human Resource Development program at the University of Regina and he recently completed a Master of Arts in Leadership at Royal Roads University in Victoria. Nick is one of our Module III facilitators. MAUREEN MATTHEW, CHRP, CE Maureen is a private training consultant who also works as our Program Manager. She has extensive experience in developing and managing college and university continuing education, and evaluating the results of public programs for federal and provincial governments. She holds a Masters in Adult Education. JANICE SIEKAWITCH Janice is the Director, Planning, Research and Communications for the Workers’ Compensation Board of Saskatchewan. She has worked for the University of Regina, the Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association, and the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association and her own special events management business. Janice, who teaches Module II, has a BA in history, and certificates in administration and public relations. JEFF GRANT, CHRP Jeff is the Manager of Human Resources for the Regina Public Library system where he directs the provision of all Human Resource and Organizational Development services. Previously he was the Director of Administration for Carlton Trail Regional College, Manager of Human Resources for a division of Saskatchewan Community Resources and Employment, Director of Human Resources for the Swift Current Health District, and Regional Manager of Customer Services for SaskPower. Jeff holds a Certificate in Administration and teaches Module II. ALLAN KOZACHUK Allan has worked within the Human Resources field for the past thirty years and has experience in all aspects of Human Resource Management. His main areas of experience are in job evaluation, compensation, labour relations, recruitment and selection, performance management, and human resource planning. Allan has taught numerous short courses related to Staffing and Classification as well as University and Community College classes in Management, Human Resources, Organizational Behaviour, and Communications. He has a Master’s Degree in Administration from the University of Regina. DIANNE JACKSON Dianne has 18 years of supervisory and management experience in the telecommunications and financial banking industries. She is past president of the Central and Northern Alberta Region of the Canadian Red Cross where she is actively involved as Human Resource Manager for Disaster Management. Dianne is also a part-time instructor at MacEwan University, School of Business Management Studies and is a certified facilitator for ColourSpectrums (personality trait workshops) and ISW (Instructional Skills Workshops). Dianne works out of Edmonton and delivers our modules on-site to Alberta workplaces. To arrange programs in Alberta, send a message to us using the Contact Us page.
